Write ups of the project should include:

1) A simple guide to using a database i.e. an explanation of how to set up a Works database, how to format database fields and how to search fields. You may like to use print screens of your database in order to illustrate setting up and searching a database.  This simple guide should be written in an easy to understand style. You may have seen books with titles such as " Dummies Guide to……………….".
This easy to understand style guarantees that a person reading your report understands what a database is and will be able to create a database.
You should assume that your guide to setting up and using a database will be read by people who have never used a database and do not have a clear understanding of what a database is.

1a) Proof that you can use a database i.e. a print out of your database and five database searches.  You should also include a data capture form.

1b) Three graphs from your database.

2) An explanation of the database terminology - Field, Key Field, Record and File. Give examples of each of these terms.

3) An explanation of the advantages of your geography database over manual methods of storing this information. i.e. why is it better to store this information in a database than on paper in a filing cabinet?  A hint, why is it better to keep very large files in a computer database?

4) Details of the security and privacy issues created by database usage. How can people gain unauthorised access to database information? Explain how these issues can be resolved.

5) An explanation of the advantages of using the Internet for this project.

6) Your ideas for making this project more interesting. This will help us when we run similar projects.
