High Performing pupils will set up a database, search and sort a database, produce graphs by transferring info. from a database into a spreadsheet, transfer info. over the Internet and produce high level "write ups" They will have a very good understanding of the social implications of database usage and the database terminology and concepts highlighted in blue.
Pupils performing less well will produce a database, a range of search and sort print outs, a range of graphs, transfer database information over the Internet and produce a "write up" which shows an understanding of many of the important concepts associated with database usage.
Pupils performing at a lower level will produce a database, perform simple searches, produce graphs from their databases, send their databases across the Internet and produce moderate write ups. Pupils performing at this lower level will receive considerable assistance from the class teacher.
Scheme will be enhanced by transfer of digital photographs between sites, these will give a flavour of the geographical, social and cultural diversity of the areas which are subjects of the geographical surveys.
